| Interested in teaching English overseas? |
Cape Town TEFL/TESOL Training Institute in combination with TeachKorea will have an open day with a multimedia presentation starting at 5pm on Tuesday 20 July in Claremont for those interested in teaching English in South Korea.
Teaching English in South Korea has been a popular overseas adventure since 1995. With regular intakes of 1,000 new teachers twice a year (August & February) it remains a popular, exciting, secure and financially viable destination with salaries ranging between R13,000 and R17,000 per month.
The Cape Town TEFL/TESOL Training Institute has been presenting these courses and training students since 1991. The Far East, the Middle East, South East Asia and even the Americas are popular destinations for our graduates. Our trainers, who continually upgrade the training materials and incorporate the latest training methods, are well qualified (see your website for further details), well travelled and enthusiastic about this rewarding profession.
We offer courses each month, covering 120 hrs of class work, study/research, preparation, an assignment and practical teaching. The requirements for registration on our courses are: matriculation plus further Education/Training and English First Language proficiency. Our 120 hour TEFL/TESOL course is recognised by the Korean Department of Education.
TeachKorea has been securing contracts for South African university graduates to teach English in Korean government schools since 2005. They are the first and only South African agency to acquire full accreditation with EPIK, the Korean governments program for placing Guest English Teachers into Korea’s public schools. The placement service TeachKorea renders to you as an applicant is free with no commissions, placement fees or deposits.
If you have (or are about to complete) a bachelors degree, an HDE or a PGCE, are adventurous, speak excellent English, enjoy working with children, are in good health, under 35 and hold an SA, UK, USA, NZ, AU, CA or IE passport then you could be flying off the super hi-tech home of Samsung, LG, Hyundai, Daewoo and Kia to ride bullet trains, experience super high-speed internet and explore a 5,000 year old culture rich in art, music and history.
Korean public school positions include a private, rent-free, furnished apartment, a full travel allowance to cover flights to and from Korea every year, a 13th cheque, medical aid, and summer and winter vacation every year. Working hours are 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday with weekends and public holidays off. If class/instruction hours exceed 22 hours per week you will be paid an additional hourly rate of R125/hr over and above your monthly salary.
Come along on 20 July and meet the team at Cape Town TEFL/TESOL Training Institute and the owners of TeachKorea and discover the exciting world of teaching English as a foreign language in South Korea and around the world.
